Body Life Minister

I’ve been blessed with three wonderful children, two sons and a daughter, and two darling daughter-in-laws. My son Britton, his wife Ashley, and my daughter Jessica live locally and attend The Hills. I was raised in a home of great grace and generosity, where the call of Christ was lived consistently. My dad and mom were living the life I wanted to have for my own. So coming from such a home, imagine how heartbreaking my own divorce was. In the hands of God, my divorce proved to be an opportunity for me to see just how trustworthy the Lord is and how, through all these years, He has met every need. It has not been easy but it has been good. Isaiah 61:3 speaks so powerfully to me, where the Lord tells of his great exchange program, he graciously gives beauty to replace ashes, strength for fear, gladness for mourning, peace for despair. …and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. As His children, though written long ago, he continues to offer these amazing exchanges. Thank you Lord. In 1994 I was asked to join the staff in a part-time position, developing our “children’s church” program, Power Kids. A couple of years later I was asked to be the elementary children’s minister and then about 13 years ago I began joining members of our church in long term, difficult situations to bring encouragement as Body Life Minister. My hope is that our church will be a church known for great love and courage, bringing many ordinary people to extraordinary lives in Christ full of grace and truth.
