When I was 14 years old, my aunt invited my family to attend church. That Sunday, I was exposed to an explanation of God’s grace and his unconditional love for me. I felt convicted of my sin and my need for forgiveness. That same day I was baptized. My identity and sense of purpose found their place in the person of Jesus Christ. I can never repay what God has done for me and I want my life to reflect the gratitude I feel for the salvation and hope that is mine in Him.

Many verses speak deeply to me. Nahum 1:7 reminds me of God’s goodness, power, and love towards me.The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him. 1 Corinthians 15:10 reminds me that I am what I am by the grace of God. Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 helps me stay focused on my desire to help everyone know of God’s saving grace. After graduation I began a church plant in Sherman, Texas, where I served for nine years.

By God’s providence I came to work at The Hills Church in 2002. I am privileged to serve at a place where the leaders lead on their knees, the members serve, and God gets the glory. I work and pray towards reaching the goals set before us in the 2020 Vision and beyond. It is my prayer that as we reach those goals our local body of believers will reflect the ethnic diversity in the community around us. I pray that, as we love one another, serve others, and worship God, others will come to know and follow Jesus our Lord and Savior.
