My husband Bill and I met while we were in college at ACU. We’ve been married for 35 years and have 3 grown children. Whitney is married to Jacob and they have our precious granddaughters, Claire and Cora. Kendall is married to Justin…no children yet but one very big Great Dane puppy named Moose. Garrett will graduate from nursing school in May. I grew up in a wonderful Christian home and we attended church every time the doors were open. I was baptized when I was 13 at church camp but my real relationship with Jesus didn’t begin to evolve until college. Attending ACU surrounded me with godly professors and Christian friends and I began to develop my own personal walk. It still wasn’t until after Bill and I were married and began attending The Hills Church that I truly began to understand grace and that the Holy Spirit actually lives inside of me. Those two things changed my Christian walk dramatically. One life event that also affected my faith was when Bill lost his job the day after I found out I was pregnant with our third child. That’s when I truly began to depend on God and His plan for my life. That’s one of the reasons Jeremiah 29:11 is special to me. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Bill and I became members of The Hills in 1982. I worked as an accountant for 6 years before becoming a stay at home mom when our first child was born. I went back to work part time in 1994 as the bookkeeper for Young Children’s World and worked there for 10 years. I accepted the job as Human Resource Director in 2004 and have learned a lot over the last 11 years. It’s a blessing to be able to work with a staff that is dedicated to honoring God with their skills every day! My hope for the future of The Hills Church is continued growth not only in numbers, but more importantly, in spirit. I hope that we will follow God’s will for His plans, not ours, and that anyone who seeks God will feel welcomed here.
