In today’s culture, navigating life can be overwhelming and discouraging at times. Where does one go for answers and discerning the right direction? Join us for a meaningful time of encouragement shared in small group discussions as specific life strategies are developed through time spent in God’s Word, in prayer, and in community. As we intentionally navigate life together, we will learn to walk in victory, anchor identities in Christ, and find peace and joy for the journey regardless of circumstances. Navigating Life will equip you to engage in spiritual practices that reinforce biblical principles.

We Need to Talk – A BIPOC Guide to Healing

Do you struggle to find a space where you can talk about race, space where people listen, and you don’t need to educate or explain?

Christians of color need other Christians of color. Some challenges that we face are only truly understood by other people of color who share our experiences. We need spaces where we feel safe, where we can be vulnerable and honestly share without being judged or possibly misunderstood. We Need to Talk offers a starting place to safely explore and make sense of our experiences, as well as and give and receive insight and encouragement. We Need to Talk is a six-session discussion group that provides us with a safe place to have conversations about internalized racism, classism, colorism, self-care, and how we can find true healing. The discussion centers on our experiences and our role in unity building and racial reconciliation.

Billions of people believe the Bible is a way God communicates with us. But how many people could really give a clear and accurate summary of the Bible? Knowing the basics of where our Bible originated will give you confidence in its credibility. Having an understanding of the major themes and characters of Scripture will strengthen your personal faith. In this 3-week course called Context: The Story of the Bible, we will walk through how we got our Bible and also summarize the narrative of Scripture. Evangelism Road Map

What is the purpose? To create a safe space for the body to grow and develop the tools that may have never been sharpened or activated in their lives.

Why do we need to evangelize? The bible says to do the work of an evangelist (2 Tim 4:5). Jesus also tells us that we are to go out into all the world and preach and teach the gospel (Matthew 28:16-20).

What is “Truth in Action”? The body of Christ has been a doormat too long; we have settled for just the giving of our money and having someone else do it. Jesus never called us to passive Christianity. Jesus called us to deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow him to reach the lost (Matthew 16:24). This is an opportunity to practice the tools you have been given with others in our city. We will mobilize and go to the grocery stores, 7th street, food places, Wal-Mart, Sundance Square and allow the Lord to work through us.

Do I need to attend every class? As with anything, do you feel that the Lord brought you to this class to grow? A gardener doesn’t plant a seed without the intention of the seed growing. Coming to the first class, a seed will be sown. The rest of the classes will be the watering of that seed to grow into what it was called to be.

  • Week 1: Realigning Purpose
  • Week 2: Anatomy of Prayer
  • Week 3: The Art of Fasting
  • Week 4: Hearing God’s Voice
  • Week 5: Sharing your Faith
  • Week 6: Praying for People
  • Week 7: Worship and Intercession
  • Week 8: Truth in Action

Emotionally Healthy Spirituality: Discipleship that Deeply Changes Your Relationship with God

Peter Scazzero learned the hard way: you can’t be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature. In Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, Peter outlines a roadmap for discipleship with Jesus that is powerfully transformative. He unveils what’s wrong with our current definition of “spiritual growth” and offers not only a model of spirituality that actually works, but seven steps to change that will help you experience authentic faith and hunger for God. Though Peter was an experienced pastor of a growing church, his life and faith remained emotionally unhealthy. Like so many in the church, he routinely:

  • avoided healthy conflict in the name of keeping the peace
  • ignored and suppressed emotions
  • used work for God as an excuse to run from God
  • lived without limits

In these 8-weeks, you will learn the importance of being emotionally healthy. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality helps you unpack core biblical principles to guide you into an experience of lasting, beneath-the-surface transformation in your relationship with Christ.
