You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t general or generic, not a one-size-fits-all. It’s specific. Personalized. Targeted.

So this is your chance to strike back. With prayer. With a weapon that really works. Each lesson will guide you in crafting prayer strategies that hit the enemy where it hurts, letting him know you’re on to him and that you won’t back down. Because with every new strategy you build, you’re turning the fiercest battles of life into precise strikes against him and his handiwork, each one infused with the power of God’s Spirit.

A 6-Session Study by Lysa TerKeurst
When hard times come and it seems God is deviating from the plan we assume our life should follow, we’re much more likely to want to tame God, not trust Him. It’s then that we begin to press into our ways and our own timing. No human can carry the weight of being their own god, but so many of us try.
In this 6-session study of 1 & 2 Kings, you can join Lysa TerKeurst in Israel as she honestly reveals the places of distrust in her own heart while exploring the deeply personal applicable Scriptures that will teach us how to truly trust God.

Elijah by Priscilla Shire

Join us on this 7-session journey through the life and times of the prophet Elijah to discover how the fire on Mount Carmel was forged in the valley of famine. Elijah demonstrates how the strength of faith, character, and boldness are first shaped in the hidden fires of silence, sameness, solitude, and adversity. Those who patiently wait on God in the darkness always emerge with their loyalty, courage, and belief in Him set afire. And the emboldened, fiery faith you desire is being fashioned by God in your life at this very moment.

Holding On When You Want to Let Go: Clinging to Hope When Life Is Falling Apart by Sheila Walsh

NRH Campus Room 224 | 7:00 pm

Are you struggling today? Do you look back and long for what used to be, or are you looking ahead and have no idea what’s coming? Are you stuck in the middle of a mess because life has not turned out as you expected? When you run to God for answers, do you often feel like you aren’t getting them–or at least aren’t getting the answers you want? Are you holding on, but not sure how much longer you can?

In times of not knowing, Sheila Walsh offers a lifeline of hope. With great compassion born of experience and hardship, Walsh comes alongside the hurting, fearful, and exhausted to remind us that we serve a God who is so much greater than our momentary troubles, no matter how insurmountable they feel. She doesn’t offer a quick fix. She offers a God fix. Sharing from her painful struggles and digging deep into biblical stories of rescue, hope, and miracles, she gives you the strength to keep going, to keep holding on to God in a world turned upside down.

We don’t wake up wise, and faith is not a reflex. James, a pastor in biblical times, recognized this as he wrote the book of James. His letter confronts the confidence we place in our own capacity for wisdom and faith. He challenges us to instead receive God’s wisdom — freely given and available to all — to fill in what we lack. Discover the practices of faith and wisdom that will help you grow more in Christ’s character.

We Need to Talk – A BIPOC Guide to Healing

Do you struggle to find a space where you can talk about race, space where people listen, and you don’t need to educate or explain?

Christians of color need other Christians of color. Some challenges that we face are only truly understood by other people of color who share our experiences. We need spaces where we feel safe, where we can be vulnerable and honestly share without being judged or possibly misunderstood. We Need to Talk offers a starting place to safely explore and make sense of our experiences, as well as and give and receive insight and encouragement. We Need to Talk is a six-session discussion group that provides us with a safe place to have conversations about internalized racism, classism, colorism, self-care, and how we can find true healing. The discussion centers on our experiences and our role in unity building and racial reconciliation.

Pure Desire Ministries began over 20 years ago as Dr. Ted Roberts recognized the pervasiveness of sexual struggle in the church. The pat answers of the past only gave men and women a message of “try harder” which kept them isolated in their sin and shame. He and a professional staff, developed a course that is Biblically sound, clinically based, and highly successful at creating lasting change.

The work begins with the award-winning Conquer Series. This 10 week course serves as an on-ramp for people in the church to understand the true nature of sexual addiction, and to seek healing in a grace-filled, redemptive way.

The program continues with The Seven Pillars of Freedom, a 29 lesson program designed to more fully explore the nature of addiction, the way God intends His people to fight against the powers that want to defeat us and what that freedom will look like.

This program does require a serious application of effort, a willingness to be vulnerable and open with your fellow classmates and a measure of dedication to allow the Holy Spirit turn you into the warrior that God intended.

Emotionally Healthy Spirituality: Discipleship that Deeply Changes Your Relationship with God

Peter Scazzero learned the hard way: you can’t be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature. In Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, Peter outlines a roadmap for discipleship with Jesus that is powerfully transformative. He unveils what’s wrong with our current definition of “spiritual growth” and offers not only a model of spirituality that actually works, but seven steps to change that will help you experience authentic faith and hunger for God. Though Peter was an experienced pastor of a growing church, his life and faith remained emotionally unhealthy. Like so many in the church, he routinely:

  • avoided healthy conflict in the name of keeping the peace
  • ignored and suppressed emotions
  • used work for God as an excuse to run from God
  • lived without limits

In these 8-weeks, you will learn the importance of being emotionally healthy. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality helps you unpack core biblical principles to guide you into an experience of lasting, beneath-the-surface transformation in your relationship with Christ.

Beginning this fall, you will have the opportunity to experience the joy of growing together as men in your faith journey while being active playing disc golf. Disc golf is played much like golf except, instead of a ball and clubs, players use a flying disc. Open to all, no experience needed. While discussing subjects of faith and discipleship, we will be active in playing disc golf and sharing in devotional and prayer time.
